The .CO.COM Registry has decided to release many of their premium (short, most memorable) domains for immediate hand registration, even though the extension is still in its Land Rush phase.Sub $50 prices are easy to find for the newly released names.

Well I had hoped for better in the ongoing .XYZ/NetworkSolutions registration fiasco but apparently its not going to happen. As of today, zone files show over 84% of .XYZ names are registered at NetSol (a registry that normally has well under 5% of new gTLD registrations).

Profilecom Owner to Get 15 Million Equity to Sell Domain in Deal Brokered by WebsitePropertiescom PDF Print E-mail

We've learned that brokerage WebsiteProperties.com has won a contract for the owner of Profile.com that will give him $1.5 million in cash and 10% equity in a new venture capital backed startup that will launch a social media oriented site on the domain this summer.

Network Solutions placed tens of thousands of new gTLD domains in client's accounts without asking their permission first. Experts say that violates NetSol's Registrar Accreditation Agreement with ICANN. Oddly enough, their actions brought more heat on .XYZ than on themselves.

Americans expect to see fireworks on July 4th but they arrived more than a month early in the domain aftermarket with the top five sales alone totaling more than $4 million over the past two weeks. This boom has actually been going on all year.
