R.I.P. Kids.us. The rarely used extension that was created by an Act of Congress in 2003 with the idea of providing a safe place for kids on the web is suspending operations effective July 27, 2012. The shutdown offers a seldom seen look at what happens to registrants and website owners when a domain extension dies.
